Beginner's Guide to Pet Play

With the correct mindset and a few accessories, you'll love playing with pets.

Have you heard of pet play? You've heard of whips and chains and even "naughty nurse" roleplays. Pet play, often known as animal play, is a stand-alone roleplay category in which a person adopts the mindset of an animal. This may be done alone, and it frequently is! In a D/S environment, however, it can also be done with a partner, where one person roleplays the animal, and the other person plays the animal's handler or caretaker.

Why Do Pets Play?

Playing with pets is all about "escaping" to the realm of essential, animalistic reactions in order to avoid the obligations of daily life. Humans, after all, are essentially just a different kind of animal; we have developed into a pleasant, harmonious society with adult duties, homes, and more. The objective behind meditative kink play or roleplaying, like other forms of it, is to let go of everything else that is occupying your mind and concentrate on being the animal you have chosen to roleplay.

To put it simply, pet play offers a place where one need not worry about adult relationships or money. To the best of their ability, they can escape by adopting the role of an animal; this can be a multi-brain process that enables them to let go of all the to-do lists running through their minds.

Pet players who are in a deep state of meditation may discover that they are in a state that makes it challenging to engage in conversation, depending on how deep the headspace goes.

Many pet players do not have sex when in their pet headspace, even though this is commonly regarded as a fetish. There is always an exception to the rule, of course, and we encourage having sex in your pet headspace if that's how you naturally feel! However, many pet players don't expect sexual pleasure or action when they reach their animalistic state.

What Type of "Pet" Are You?

It is entirely up to you to decide what kind of pet you are. The most popular options are dogs, cats, and bunnies—possibly because they are the most common domestic pets.

However, "pet play" might involve any animal. For the most primal among us, I have witnessed fox and wolf pet play, as well as otter and squirrel pet play! You'll want to be the animal that speaks to you. (Although I've never witnessed a capybara being petted, I'm very open to hearing that.)

Naturally, if you have never engaged in pet play before, you may be perplexed by the question, "Which animal am I?" Fortunately for everyone, all you have to do is give your best to help solve the issue. In other words, try!

Initially, you may wish to relax and imagine the potential pets you could keep. What actions would come naturally to you if you were crawling about your house? Which animal temperaments most closely resemble your own? Since "training" an otter is typically a pointless endeavor, would you want to be trained? Make an effort to mimic the animal's sound with your voice. Is it a natural sound? Or does the act of attempting to make you feel good on the inside?

Now that you've cleared your mind, why not try some physical exercises? Explore your house and notice what seems natural. What is the comfort level of a "puppy bow"? What about a squirrel chittering? Do you enjoy hissing at furniture that offends you? Do you find the idea of strict rules and training for pony play appealing?

In light of this, you've significantly reduced your possibilities. The only thing left to do is to genuinely spend some time in the headspace, exploring your "world" as your pet of choice.

Additionally, keep in mind that you can change your pet play animal. You can always experiment with a different animal character if you feel that things have altered in the future! If your path leads you to become a tiger, you can begin as a kitten and grow into that animal. Having fun is the primary goal.

Let's Talk Wearable Pet Play Gear

First of all, any pet owner will tell you that accessories are not required. Everything outside of your brain exists only to support it; your brain is where all of the pet play magic takes place.

However, because all of those items improve their mental state, the majority of pet gamers will also be delighted to share their favorite accessories with you. Even while you can play with pets without any particular accessories, each one you get will improve your mental state and the reality of your pet play. A tail swishing on your thighs will feel more authentic for your wolf pet play than a tail not present. Instead of merely having your typical human ears, your fox pet play will feel more genuine if you can feel (and see!) little ears on your head.

In light of this, let's discuss pet play accessories.

First, you may want ears, a mask, and a tail. Although you can buy each of these items separately, you can also buy them in a kit to save time and money. One of the many pet play kits produced by Tailz, for instance, has a fox tail butt plug, a wolf tail butt plug, and a cat tail butt plug. Additionally, each kit comes with a headpiece, such as ears or a mask.

Our puppy play kit goes above and above by including every dog pet play accessory you require. The Tailz Puppy Play Set comes with a collar and leash for your new puppy, a dog tail butt plug, and a BDSM dog bone gag.

There are, of course, various kinds of butt plugs for pet play. The Joys of the Crystal If you prefer the "pastel pony" pet play style, My Little Pony Tail is the ideal choice. The butt plug is made of glass, but the tail is lengthy and wildly flowing, and it is made of premium synthetic wig hair.

The Sportsheets Silicone Bunny Butt Plug, however, is a far better option if you're more of a bunny butt plug tail fan. After inserting the butt plug, this tiny poof will protrude directly, giving the appearance of a fluffy rabbit tail. A black pet play rabbit tail is a lovely way to connect the Sportsheets Metal rabbit Butt Plug, which is also available if you like the heavier weight of stainless steel.

Don't you enjoy anal play? That's okay! Although they are more challenging to locate, pet playtails with belt loops, such as a fox pet playtail, are available. You're ready to leave once you put on your belt and clip the tail. (Plus, it's now accessible to the public!)

While this is not to suggest that tails "make" pet play, many individuals consider getting a tail—along with a mask or ears—to be among the most essential pieces of pet play gear! (We also suggest some sport-grade knee protection if you intend to crawl on the ground a lot.)

Other Pet Play Gear

You should not stop there, however. You have complete control over how big (or tiny) your pet's play equipment is. Human-sized dog beds or kennels can be among the most expensive investments for many pet owners. A human kennel cage is one of the priciest pet play expenditures, so many people put it off for a while. However, if you start playing with pets regularly, you'll start dreaming about it!

You can furnish your house with less expensive pet playthings on a more economical basis. A basic huge cardboard box can be an excellent purchase if you have a chance to engage in cat-pet play. Large and reasonably priced moving boxes are available from moving stores. You can add squeaky dog toys to your home at a reasonable price if your pet's play needs are more puppy-related. Your bun-bun may love carrots as a treat if you choose to play with bunnies as pets. How does a wolf pet play? Squeaky toys that resemble slabs of meat would be a good idea.

Additionally, you can make pet play gear out of everyday objects. Take an additional blanket and make it the "human pet bed" that you use. Your pet brain knows that "their bed" is a comfortable space that you can fold up into a corner.

A Note about Safety

Human teeth are not as strong and resilient as the jaws (and teeth!) of animals. Please make sure the animal toys you buy are appropriate for human play, even though you can buy them for your pet. For the human mouth, anything challenging to bite down on (like hard rubber) or extremely rough (like bones) might be a huge no-no.

Additionally, you want to seek toys that can be washed (since our mouths are more sensitive to bacteria than animals'), that physically fit into the human mouth (because animal mouths open larger), and that are safe to swallow or choke on (because it's dangerous to be in animal headspace!).

Accordingly, "tug of war" games are also harmful to human teeth. How frequently do we see our teeth pulled outward in our daily lives? True enough, never. In order to keep your human pet safe, we advise allowing them to use their hands when playing tug-of-war. In any case, it should be a fair fight.

Some Pet Play Scenes to Get You Started

Uncertain about where to begin? Here are a few basic concepts that may help you come up with some full-length scenes or simply suggestions for how pet play will work into a scene you already had in mind:

  • Get off the chair and onto the floor (if your body permits it), and set a timer on your phone (we suggest 30 minutes to begin). After that, try to adopt the pet play role for the following half hour. Try creating sounds that are more like animals. Try engaging in pet play. If it doesn't seem exactly right at first, don't give up and stop. You're not permitted to touch your phone again until the timed buzzer sounds.

  • Think about creating or locating goodies that resemble the "food" that your pet pretends animal consume. Jerky is always a good option, as are biscuits shaped like the meal your animal prefers. You can utilize the treats later, and the whole process of collecting or baking the treat makes you think of your pet's play area!

  • Ask your pet play partner to "take you on a walk" with you that day if you have one. This could involve a leash and collar (if you're a domesticated pet) or simply calling your name in vain to persuade you to obey. This is as simple to do indoors as it is outside.

  • If you feel more at ease playing with your pet (and you know what you like to do when you're in that state of mind), think about "setting up" your perfect play area for your pet self. Is the floor of the living room covered in squeaky toys? It could be a bowl of water and treats lying with a vast box and windows open to let in sunlight. It could be a platter of food that you can devour with your hands as messy as possible. You have the option to pre-set your playspace and then enter the headspace to play with the objects you have placed there.

We hope you have a great time playing with your pets and discover the inner pleasure (and relaxation!) you've been seeking!
