Fire Whip

In the BDSM subculture, a fire whip is a kind of sex item used for edge play called "fire play." Before being used, a fire whip should be doused in a combustible accelerant and ignited. The recipient is then struck by the wielder with the flaming fire whip.

More About Fire Whip

A fire whip can have several lashes and be either a singletail or flogger type. Kevlar, which is durable enough to endure repeatedly being set on fire, is commonly used to make fire whips.

Alcohol and lighter fluid are examples of combustible accelerants that must be soaked in fire whips to ignite and remain lit. If you immerse the flogger for a longer period of time, it will remain lit for longer. The whip must also be kept moving to ensure the flames don't go out while being used.

Using a fire whip is extremely risky, just like any other fire play. There is obviously considerable risk involved with using any form of whip. These factors make it inappropriate for dominants who lack experience to try using a fire whip. Dominants should concentrate on the back or chest rather than locations like the face and genitalia where fire could do significant harm.

The dominant's tails must make contact with flesh rather than the whip's body, and the submissive must only be struck briefly to prevent skin burns. Burn risk can also be decreased by swinging the fire whip around in the air before applying it to the skin. Fire wands or other less hazardous fire toys can also be used to "warm up" the submissive's body beforehand.

The submissive's skin will be scorched, regardless of how proficient the dominant is with a fire whip.
