Muffing

Muffing is the colloquial name for a sexual act in which a person with a penis fingers one or both of their inguinal canals.

The phrase initially appeared in the zine "Fucking Trans Women," which was produced by a trans woman named Mira Bellweather in Iowa in 2010. The publication was a comprehensive manual devoted to educating anyone with transgender sexual partners and to enjoying sex as a trans woman.

Muffing is defined by Bellwether as "being [finger-]fucked in one or both of my inguinal canals," which are the "twin 'pockets' that are situated in the groin above and behind the testicles and scrotum."

Anatomy of the Inguinal Canals

The two tiny openings in the abdomen's anterior wall are known as the inguinal canals. They run parallel to the inguinal ligament and act as a conduit between the internal and external abdominal structures, passing through the groin and out towards the external genitalia.

The length varies from birth to adulthood, typically between 4 and 6 millimetres. Since they are the passageway by which the testicles descend from the abdomen to the scrotal sac, they are usually more noticeable in areas where testicles are present.

The external inguinal orifices mark the end of the inguinal canals behind where the scrotum connects to the body. These appear as tiny punctures on either side, just beneath the skin. Some individuals may find touching these two tiny indentations beneath the skin rather enjoyable.

Since it was where Bellwether's experience rested, her publication mainly concentrated on bodies with the penis and scrotum remaining intact. These external inguinal orifices might, however, continue to be sensitive and accessible in the event of gender confirmation surgery that removes external genitalia.

Fingering a Trans Woman

How people refer to their external inguinal orifices may vary depending on their comfort level. In addition to using their physical names, Bellwether calls them her "cunts," yet what suits one individual may create gender dysphoria for another. Knowing the terminology each partner prefers to use to describe their body parts is a good idea while interacting with them.

It is possible to stroke and activate the depressions above manually via the skin. By applying pressure to the area, a finger can glide as deep as it is comfortable into the canal and into the hole beneath the skin.

Stretching the Inguinal Canal

Extending and accommodating a finger could take some time when muffing for the first time. The region will relax with time and proper warm-up, allowing for a more profound or thorough entry. Trying anything new can cause discomfort. But if you feel pain, slow down or try again after warming up more.

Finding their inguinal canals or guiding a partner to them will be more straightforward for anyone who has engaged in muffing or who practices tucking, which is the practice of concealing one's penis, scrotum, and testicles between one's legs or buttocks. This technique also involves pressing the testicles back up in the inguinal canals.
