Sex Toy Care and Storage

There is a vast array of sex toys available! Numerous forms, sensations, and purposes. When you purchase a new enjoyment product, you can be unsure of what you're getting into because there is so much to discover. What must you do to meet the needs of your sex toy, which is made to meet your wants?

Body-safe sex gadgets should be low-maintenance, which is terrific news.

Stainless steel, glass, ABS plastic, silicone, and other functionally nonporous materials are used to make those goods. Since they won't harbor bacteria and can be sterilized to eradicate infections (including fungus, STIs, and more), these are the finest for long-term use.

Sanitizing & Cleaning

Sanitizing, a comprehensive cleaning procedure, and routine cleaning are crucial.

First, determine whether a vibrating or thrusting toy with a motor inside is waterproof before cleaning it. Most body-safe vibrators can be washed in the sink with soap and water because they are at least splashproof (IPX rating 4-6). Many are "100% waterproof" or submersible (IPX 7-8), so you may safely use them in the bathtub or shower.

Several extremely powerful massagers, such as the Hitachi Magic Wands, are notable examples of non-waterproof devices. (You should wipe those down instead of soaking them or splattering them with water.)

The two stages of sex toy cleaning are as follows:

Sanitizing a new sex toy before using it is recommended practice! By doing this, any dirt from the production, packing, and shipping processes will be eliminated. Additionally, it will eliminate any bacteria if you use the toy frequently, between partners, or between the anus and vagina. Select any one of the following approaches:

  • The most straightforward approach is to use a UV sanitizer. Within a few minutes, 99.9% of the germs are eliminated.
  • Soak in a 10% bleach solution (one part water to nine parts unscented bleach). After that, thoroughly wash it with soap and water. (Wipe instead of soak if you're cleaning a toy that isn't waterproof.)
  • Use 70% isopropyl alcohol, which is inexpensive and available at any pharmacy, to clean. Once more, wash with soap and water to remove the sanitizing agent.
  • If the toy is motorless (such as a simple plug or dildo), boil it in a saucepan over the heat for three to five minutes.
  • Also, for toys that aren't mechanical, Put them through the dishwasher's sanitizing cycle without using any detergent. To be thorough, wash with soap and water afterward.

A good wash with soap and water is ideal for daily cleaning. Like hand cleaning, germs are eliminated mainly by the friction created when two surfaces are rubbed together. While soap is helpful, other cleaning products, such as *antibacterial* soap, are ineffective.

Pay more attention to any cracks or crevices in your toy where dried fluids could collect. In severe situations, a toothbrush with soft bristles might be helpful. A unique cleaning brush includes vibes like the BMS Pillow Talk series!

Charging

Although most powered sex toys have some power built-in, it's always advised to charge them before using them. When the battery is low, charge it as needed! Most vibes typically take one to two hours to fully charge. As you use your toy more frequently, you'll discover its unique charging requirements because battery life does differ by toy.

Most of the vibes in Peepshow Toys' carefully chosen selection may be recharged via USB.

This implies that you can connect the cord to a USB charger cube (like the ones with all cell phones) and plug that into the wall or even plug the cord into your computer to charge it.

Other toys, such as the Magic Wand Rechargeable and the Velvet Thruster Thrusting Dildos, can be recharged, but not through USB. They will come with a complete plug-in charging cord.

The most important thing when using rechargeable gadgets is ensuring you have the right cord for the job! Because vibrator charging cords are so different, it's best to mark the cord when you receive it to prevent confusion if you own more than a few toys. (Unless you're purchasing a brand that does that for you, like Fun Factory or BMS Factory, yay!) Otherwise, inserting the incorrect cord will damage your vibe's motor.

Of course, some gadgets aren't rechargeable and need extra batteries. You can resume your activities by simply changing the batteries as necessary.

Storage

Keeping nonporous sex toys near one another is relatively safe. For instance, silicone dildos won't break down other toys.

The Blush Real Nude and Vixen VixSkin dual-density dildos are one sort of exception, which could leave other materials' surfaces slightly sticky. (At least before a thorough cleaning!) This is because these toys' incredibly soft platinum silicone outer layers contain a high amount of dimethicone or silicone oil. It's just tacky but safe. For this reason, Vixen Creations advises keeping any VixSkin upright in its container.

You can use individual bags to arrange your body-friendly toys, but putting them all in a plastic storage bin or drawer is okay. Separate toy storage bags are practical when traveling and help keep a vibrating toy and its charging wire together.

Conclusion

Maintaining clean sex toys is easy if you purchase them from a reliable retailer (such as Peepshow Toys). Wash with soap and water after play, and sanitize before the first usage! Use the appropriate charging cord when charging any vibrating toy.

You can keep toys in a storage pouch, on a nightstand, or anywhere else convenient.
