Viennese Oyster Position

The Viennese Oyster position requires the receiver to be highly flexible in order to place their legs behind their head. It is a penetration-from-on-top sexual position. The providing partner penetrates them from above once they are in this sexual posture.

The vulva (when the legs are raised near the head, as in this sexual position) has been colloquially referred to as a Viennese oyster, hence the name of the Viennese oyster position. In this position, the receiver's body likewise assumes the shape of an oyster.

More About Viennese Oyster Position

The receiver lies on their back, typically on a bed, to assume the Viennese oyster posture. After that, they raise and shift their legs till their feet are close to their head. It is possible to enter them from this position. If the giver is standing close to the end of a bed, they can penetrate the recipient while kneeling over them. In order to support their partner and save them from being crushed, the receiver will typically use their hands.

The Viennese oyster posture is popular because it permits deep penetration. The position's ability to manage penetration angle, depth, and pace is another perk that many givers enjoy.

Some couples may find the Viennese Oyster position inappropriate, especially those with conditions like cerebral palsy that cause rigidity or contractures or those with conditions like Ehlers's Danlos Syndrome that cause hypermobility of the joints.

The receiver must have a lot of flexibility to perform the Viennese oyster position. Their spouse can hold onto their legs if they have trouble keeping them in place. They must take care, though, to never put their partner's body in an uncomfortable position. The deep penetration that this posture permits may also be difficult for people with large penises.

If the provider is also impaired, this posture may be challenging and/or inaccessible for them. Therefore, we strongly advise discussing the access requirements for this position before taking this action.
